A gravel fire-pit circle set against limestone paving, with a small gravel zen garden behind it and a built-in BBQ run along the wall.
The Garden Room
The same garden handled the other way: a timber garden office along the back, a lawn with a square fire pit at its centre, and deep mixed borders wrapping the edges.
Cottage scheme
A curved stepping-stone path sweeping down one side of a long garden to a circular terrace under an acer, with soft, informal planting either side.
Contemporary scheme
The same garden as a rectilinear scheme: a paved terrace squared off against the lawn, modular planting bays down the boundary, one acer holding the corner.
